When I think of Summer I automatically imagine the lush seasonal fruits that come with it. My favorite is (obviously) Strawberries. Everything about them is divine; their color, shape, fragrance and of course taste. What's amazing is that they are also packed with nutritional benefits for your skin and body. They treat a number of skin conditions as well as being insanely healthy and a fantastic breakfast food.

Strawberries are low in sugar and high in Fiber which makes them a perfect addition to your breakfast.
Combining with Oats and Coconut Chips you will be getting a delicious and nutritious start to you day.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (use certified gluten free, if necessary)
- 1 cup canned coconut milk/coconut water
- ½ - ¾ T honey* (optional)
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
Directions:
- Place oats, coconut milk/water into a pot.
- Bring to a boil, then turn down to medium and cook until creamy.
- Serve, topped with chopped strawberries.
Whiten Your Teeth
Strawberries are filled with Malic Acid which has been found to whiten teeth.
How?
Crush 1 Strawberry to a pulp consistency
Mix with ½ tsp baking soda
Spread mixture over teeth with toothbrush.
Leave for 5 mins
Rinse and brush teeth thoroughly
Treat Acne
Strawberries naturally contain Salicylic Acid - one of the major ingredients found in most acne treatments. During the summer you can take advantage of the abundance of fresh strawberries and treat yourself to a DIY face mask to help treat acne
You will need:
3 mashed strawberries
1 tsp lemon juice
Combine ingredients
Apply to face
Let sit for 10 - 15 mins
Gently rinse off with warm water
Brighten Skin
Strawberries contain high doses of Vitamin C which is great for lightening and brightening skin tone.
To get the full benefits simply blend your strawberries into a thin pulp and apply to face with cotton wool. Let sit for 5 minute
and rinse thoroughly.
Combat Under Eye Puffiness
Strawberries have incredible astringent properties that work wonder on puffy tired eyes.
Simply slice a large strawberry into thin slices
and place over eyes.
Let sit for 15 minutes and then remove.
