How to Get Rid of Cellulite

Natural Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite, cottage cheese legs, orange peel texture, or whatever you may call it, is an absolute pestilence to your butt and thighs!  So what is cellulite? Cellulite is the term for lumpy, dimpled skin on the area that includes the: thighs, hips, buttocks and abdomen. However, it can also be found on the breasts, lower abdomen and upper arms as well. Unfortunately, it's most common in adolescent and adult women. So unless you’re a pre-pubescent girl, a man, or roughly 10% of really, really lucky women, there’s a good chance that you have or are currently battling cellulite.

The good news is that cellulite is not a threatening medical condition. Cellulite is just embarrassing or unsightly. This has made it have a very major negative impact many women’s self-image and self-confidence.  So what is cellulite exactly?

There is not a huge amount of information available in regard to the causes of cellulite. What is known is that it appears to result from an interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer that lies below the surface of the skin with the layer of fat that is just below it. There are certainly those that are genetically pre-disposed to it and of course that diet and exercise also contribute towards its appearance.  So how do you naturally treat cellulite?

How to Get Rid of Cellulite: Natural Cellulite Treatment

Dry Brushing

Daily dry brushing feels great and helps stimulate blood and lymph flow in the body. Dry brushing opens up your pores and should be done twice daily on dry skin with the brush being 100% dry.

When dry brushing, make sure to only brush towards the heart with long sweeps. Be sure to avoid brushing back and forth or brushing the skin in circular motions. Begin dry brushing at your feet then move up the legs on both sides, followed the arms going towards the chest, and brush counter clockwise on your stomach. Yes, it sounds like a full-body workout but anecdotal evidence shows that it’s an extremely effective natural cellulite treatment, and an inexpensive one at that.

Coffee Scrub

The caffeine content in coffee makes it outstanding at promoting circulation and invigorating blood flow. A Coffee scrub is a great exfoliator that helps remove dead cells from the skin and produce new, healthy cells instead. Massaging can tighten the loose skin caused by cellulite.

We recommend our Exfoliating Coffee Scrub with Dead Sea Salt. If you have sensitive skin, try our Brown Sugar Scrub.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar can be used to get rid of cellulite. The vinegar contains potassium, magnesium, minerals, and calcium. These properties decrease cellulite, eliminates toxins, and controls excess water around the thighs and stomach. Just mix it with some water (2 parts water to 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar) and add a drop of honey, scrub it in, and you have yourself a natural cellulite treatment.

Ok, we know this is a bummer but if you want to get rid of the cellulite on your bum, this is something that is definitely going to help. Doing squats, leg exercises, cardio, and, especially, using kettle balls, increases blood flow to these areas. This can help remove cellulite and build muscle and burn fat. Both of those help minimize the appearance of cellulite.

Hormone control

The appearance of cellulite and hormone production goes hand-in-hand. So it is critical to have a well-balanced diet, and a healthy lifestyle stabilize your hormone levels.

Make sure to avoid eating too much fat, carbohydrates, and salt as well as too little fiber which often results in an increase in cellulite. Add colors to your meal by introducing several varieties of vegetables, fresh fruit, lean meat, and fish.

Makes sure to get enough sleep and stay hydrated.

While a little trickier to do, try to reduce your levels of anxiety as well and you will slowly, but successfully, get rid of cellulite.

Naturally Moisturizing Every Day

Moisturizing on a daily basis will help eliminate cellulite from your body and leave your skin smoother. Always choose a natural moisturizer, like our Hemp & Shea Body Butter, or just use Coconut Oil. With either option just remember to rub it all over your body immediately after showering. Massaging these in after you’re done showering will firm the skin, removing cellulite if done on a daily basis.

More Omega-3

If you really want to up your natural cellulite treatment game, you have to up your Omega-3 intake. By consuming the wrong kinds of fats, you create an imbalance of the fatty acids that the body needs for smooth skin and tissue. What you need is the fatty acids in Omega-3. Omega-3’s fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins help build a strong immune system. This makes your body’s tissues and skin smoother which overtime reduces cellulite. Fish is going to be your best source of Omega-3 so get yourself some Salmon or Cod.  If you don’t like to eat fish then opt for fish oil pills and take 1 daily.

“The good news is that cellulite is not a threatening medical condition. Cellulite is just embarrassing or unsightly. This has made it have a very major negative impact many women’s self-image and self-confidence.”

This is really gross body-shaming. You really don’t have to include how gross YOU think it is to talk about remedies. Really bad writing. Bad message. No thanks

Meaghan Kelly June 21, 2020

Wow your intro is intense. I was just curious about natural remedies but apparently my cellulite is a pestilence and very unfortunate and I’m not one of the very very very lucky women and have to experience this great travesty. Just gonna walk my cottage cheese legs on out. Way to body shame. I’m not even insecure about it but it felt like you really wanted me to be.

Meaghan June 21, 2020

Thank you! I’m going to try the coffee scrub and apple cider vinegar ideas. I had only been drinking apple cider vinegar to lose fat.(a small amount)
